Not surprised at all that the admin scrubbed this from the FB page within 24 hours, but that's why I put it here as well. Guess I've been unfriended.
I didn't get a screen capture, but on January 30, FB member "Wopp-Opp" (the local radio station?) posted this:
"when that 16 yr goes to the Beach he has the danger of a shark attack SO LET CLOSE THE BEACH,"
I don't have my response, but the gist of it was they were comparing apples to oranges. Sure, both snakes and sharks can be dangerous. But no beach community pays kids to jump in the water when they see a shark.
